Standard Bass Guitars, Mandolins, Banjos and Ukulele’s all have four strings, or, in the case of mandolin, four courses.  Notation for these instruments is often written on four-line TAB or Tablature sheets.  It’s also written on standard staff notation paper. Get downloadable pdf sheets of both TAB and standard staff paper.

In addition to those two types, there is a special type of 4+1 paper.  This has five lines like standard staff paper but the bottom line of each staff line is dashed.  This allows flexibility to use for either 4-line TAB, or 5-line standard notation.
